Tackling humanitarian challenges
During a THE Port hackathon, interdisciplinary teams of handpicked individuals chosen for their field-leading expertise and innovative minds combine humanitarian questions with state- of-the-art science, cutting-edge technology and endless fantasy. This year, THE Port moved forward online, conducting its first Humanitarian Online Hackathon. During the two weeks of preparation and the actual event, the participants were having a great time together, hacking challenges regarding humanitarian feedback mechanisms, aerial explosives detection with drones, the use of satellite imagery for medical purposes, the fight against human trafficking, open-source medical applications, and the use of AI for mental health. gluoNNet supported THE Port during the organisation and the facilitation of the hackathon.
